Audi sales chief predicts record Q1 sales

Automotive News Europe

GENEVA (Reuters) – Volkswagen AG's premium brand Audi expects to sell more cars in the three months through March than it ever did during a first quarter, Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi's sales chief, told reporters in Geneva on Tuesday.

Audi forecasts at least 10 percent sales growth in the U.S. market this year, bringing volumes up to a level where a local production base starts to become interesting, according to Schwarzenbauer.

Unlike its two main German premium competitors, Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz and BMW AG, Audi so far does not build cars in the United States.
